This young carers group runs alternate Tuesdays and is for young people who are in a carers position.
A young carer is someone under 18 who cares for another person – helps mum with chores, helps dad to get dressed, takes their little sister to school and /or helps with her care. Life is demanding on them in ways it isn’t for young people of their age. They do all of these things but still have to study for exams, look after themselves, and not lose sight of their dreams.
We want to make sure that young carers get the same opportunities in life as other young people…Being a carer shouldn’t hold them back.
